Okay, I'm late but here it is.
FIRST SHARK WEEK PICTURE, HOORAH.
Really wanted to draw my girlies, but you can't have pictures of "mersharks" on SHARK WEEK without actual sharks. So I combined them.
Starting off with the notorious GREAT WHITE SHARK.
The Great White is a massive predator and one of the most well-known sharks in the ocean. While in the movie "Jaws" they are portrayed as terrifying maneaters, these sharks actually prefer feeding on seals, fish, pinnipeds, and seabirds. Surfers mistaken for seals may be attacked, but they aren't eaten. As soon as the shark realizes its mistake, it spits the human back out (although with a bite force of 18,000 newtons or more, it's no wonder they do so much damage). The average shark is 13-17 feet long with some of the largest being up to 20 feet long. They are skilled hunters, and perhaps their most interesting technique is their use of breaching to capture seals. A 2,000 pound shark jumping straight out of the water then splashing back down with a seal in its mouth: tell me that isn't cool.
